About Us

The Alberta Association for Respiratory Therapists (AaRT) was created by Respiratory Therapists, for Respiratory Therapists.

Our work focuses on uniting members, strengthening our collective voice, and supporting initiatives that help advance Respiratory Therapy across the province.

Our Mission

We will advance best practices in Respiratory Therapy by connecting our members, recognizing excellence, promoting our profession, and providing meaningful educational opportunities.

Vision and Values

Our vision is to inspire greatness and growth in our profession with leading-edge, safe, patient-focused care.

We value connection, recognition, advocacy and education.

Meet The Board

The Alberta Association of Respiratory Therapists (AaRT) acknowledges the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary territories of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Alberta. We recognize the treaties that shape our shared responsibilities—Treaties 6, 7, and 8—and the Métis Nation of Alberta within Métis Nation Homeland. We honor the past, present, and future contributions of Indigenous Peoples, and we reaffirm our commitment to reconciliation through humility, accountability, and the delivery of culturally safe respiratory care.
